The point I was making was that the bar deciding the credibility of sources used by some parts of the media seems to go up and down quite significantly depending on how the source's story meets the agenda. I have noticed that almost ANY source will make it into a story if it's anti-military, and that almost any pronouncement by the military will, conversely, often meet with great skepticism.

That this pathetic unknown source made the headline and the lede just makes it worse, and worth pointing out as a specific example.

Among others, I'm still keeping an intermittent eye on the Haditha case, and an incident in Israel where some civilians were blown up on a beach. Both are getting very interesting, but haven't gelled to the point where I want to start putting details here.
