re: Laptop question...half an answer

It has been my (limited) experience that disassembling a Laptop is something not to be done lightly. Most often I strongly recommend that most people don’t.

The hardware is packed in so tightly, often with special fasteners, that the risk of irreparable damage is simply to great.

While it is possible to remove enough to expose certain items for cleaning, accessing the keyboard connections or fasteners is usually buried so deep into the unit it’s inaccessible without totally stripping the thing down to the bare frame. Most units I’ve had anything to do with were built in reverse, I.E. the keyboard was the first item installed into the frame.

Might be time to consider taking it into a Pro.

I will point out this, laptops have fallen in price a great deal. It’s quite possible to find a decent unit for less than $600.00 these days.

(Not that I can afford that, but I did want to point it out.)
