Question for anyone re Hawking ALS

The survival rate for ALS after 10 years is 10%. Hawking has been severely afflicted for over 20 years.

Has he received any extraordinary treatment for his ALS or is he just extremely lucky?

However you look at it, we are certainly lucky that a mind like his has survived so long past the typical prognosis
