Standard "dogma" response.
"People who disagree must not be qualified to have an opinion."
Leaving aside the article's point that many of Gore's "hundreds of scientists" are not, in fact, qualified to make climactic judgments, or the absolute irrelevance of the politics of the newspaper itself, we have quoted in the article:
Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University
former University of Winnipeg climatology professor Dr. Tim Ball
Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson
Dr. Boris Winterhalter, former marine researcher at the Geological Survey of Finland and professor in marine geology, University of Helsinki
Dr. Wibjörn Karlén, emeritus professor, Dept. of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology, Stockholm University, Sweden
Dr. Dick Morgan, former advisor to the World Meteorological Organization and climatology researcher at University of Exeter, U.K.
Dr. Roy Spencer, Principal Research Scientist at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
While the paper you link (which is, as usual, behind a huge subscription wall) also has an impressive list of authors, they are no more or less credible than the ones in the article, just because one group is telling you what you want to hear, and the other one isn't.
