Space/Science » in reply to The Pigeon Principle

Maybe I'm just dense, but I didn't get it...

"As for your anthropic comment ( "if the physical laws of the universe were ever so slightly tweaked in one way or another... "we" wouldn't be here." I can only offer a counter-exampler:

A hundred thousand spectators are in an athletic stadium, and a pigeon flies overhead, defecating on one of the fans. He looks up in reverence and thinks, "now why did that bird pick ME? I must be really special"

If your analog is that we are the product of a 1 in a xxxxxxxxxxx chance under the perceived physical laws of the universe, that life is rare and absolutely priceless - I get that.

Was there something more to your response?
And what about the faction that believes in ID?
From what I understand, they claim that the chance of certain evolutionary steps or changes happening in the order they happened are not possible, nor could they be repeated with an infinite amount of tests.
