Mopeds get 100+ mpg- and you can seat two.
Now, if you want to go faster than 35 mph, then there are lots of motorcycles to choose from- and most motor bike have higher performance than most cars and have decent gas mileage and seat two.
But the problem is people want safety. With 40,000 Americans dying each year from car accidents, this isn't too unreasonable.
Now, can you tell me why 90% of governmental workers need to drive to work, instead doing their work via the internet?
