It is interesting watching radar loops of Houston. Sometimes the storms seem to go around the city. Sometimes they dump inches of water on the city, but not the surrounding areas. I have suspected it is the local city caused climate that causes these things.
Recently, Houston has done something I support 100% and I wish they would do it more- plant thousands of trees on the freeway esplanades.
But I give a big loud boo to developers. The trend now, be it homes or business, is to plow down every tree on the lot. Then they plant a sapling or two that will take 20 years to grow. Kudo’s to Lowes, who leave lots of trees in their parking lot. I wish more business would do that. The shade they provide is great on a hot summer’s day. Also Kudos to Walgreen’s, who build on sites that an old building occupies, instead of clearing a wooded lot.
I love trees. Keep planting them, and save those already there.
