re: Mother Nature is beautiful

Wicked Weather always fascinates me. Of course, when it was just my own skin, I would stay and watched it. With the Family, I have a responsibility to get them to safety.

Houston had a bunch of flooding last week. People were bitching about the millions we spent on flood control and it still floods. I tell them, “We live at sea-level. When you get 10 inches of rain in a couple of hours, it is going to flood no matter how much drainage you have. We can’t speed up gravity so the water drains faster. “

The problem is too much concrete and not enough green areas. Water runs right off the concrete whereas it can sit and soak into green areas.

I told my wife about glyconutrients. Her Lupus was acting up two months ago. This month it has not bothered her much. Such is the way the Lupus works. She has to stay out of the Sun. Even fifteen minutes in direct sunlight will trigger a Lupus attack. I figure it is the chemical change the Sun causes in the skin. This sets off her immune system.

We had to put out adopting plans on hold. They are leery about placing children with a couple where one has a terminal illness. For now, we’ll just love the two we have.
