The second link - the Popular Mechanics article - was quite interesting and certainly very detailed. I'm assuming (from your carefully reasoned post) that you concluded this UFO was some sort of ionic-drive lifter rather than anything of ET origin (after all, the thing needs air to work in any case, according to the description).
