The sheer incompetence of the Bush administration should rattle both liberals and conservatives.
Of course, the bottom line is that we are reaping the moldy fruit of the misbegotten war in Iraq. This war has never been in the best interests of Americans and American foreign policy. Through it we have squandered away precious military resources, domestic resolve, international credibility and the moral high ground. Consequently our capacity for achieving substantive foreign policy objectives elsewhere int he world has evaporated. Meanwhile the MIddle East teeters on the brink of World War III.
What we are watching unfold is a good illustration of why the simpleton, immature neocon cowboy ideology is contrary to the best interests of American citizens.
