I've read that Hawking was working from the perspective that black holes behave as quantum objects, simply a very big quantum particle.
Does that mean that all particles are black holes, but are somehow stable?
Does that mean that there are stability bands for black holes based on mass, charge and spin?
Does that mean that black holes can combine in a manner predicted by the Schroedinger Equation?
Could universes exist in every particle that makes up our own, a la "Men In Black"?
It's fascinating to say the least. I read a short story recently in Years Best SF 11 anthology series about a transdimensional being that wanted to "collect" our universe as a souvenir, just because it liked it so much. When it first explored our universe it didn't find any intelligent life because it was exploring it on the micrometer scale. All it saw were protists and amoebas. So many things are dependent on scale. Multiverses might be too.

Interesting possibilities
