A black hole with a tiny mass will evaporate into a shower of stable quantum particles. The path for this decay might be as follows:
Path #1: Small Black Hole --> Hawking Radiation --> Decay/Capture --> Stable Particles
Larger masses might evolve as follows:
Path #2: Large Black Hole --> Collisions --> Inflation --> Envelopment/Density Decrease --> New Universe
A quibble with path #1 is a mechanism for creating the black hole. Particle accelerators or cosmic ray collisions may or may not result in a black hole. Certainly supernovas would result in a larger solar-mass black hole. And a quibble with Path #2 is whether or not matter clumps together and prevents the formation of an infinite density singularity inside the event horizon. Also, if simple exponential relativistic growth is responsible for cosmological expansion, then will it eventually consume all the matter & energy available and stop growing? If so, then does the universe form a stable "super-particle"? Or is there more to it? Fun stuff.

And I should point out....
