The fundamentals of tyranny and and freedom change continuously.
That is the true lesson of history, and Jefferson understood that better than you or I ever can. That's why what he said is irrelevant today, Because the times have changed, and evil has morphed to take advantage of a new age.
But that won't stop people from attempting to claim Jefferson (or Kennedy) as champions of their contemporary little tyrannies, or justifications for their up-to-date modern day slaveries. So don't presume to instruct me on who I can or cannot quote. Those who have the audacity to cloak their Babbittry in the reputation of the founders have no business dictating the terms of discourse to anyone else.
