I had one set that came with quotes from "The Hobbit" underneath.
I have a weird spam that shows only the top fragment of the ad, with the rest being static. I have gotten hundreds of these. I wonder when the sender will get a clue?
I have filters that I programmed myself that work pretty well, but I still have to clear out the junk file manually to make sure something important didn't get thrown there. Many spammers use graphics to avoid text filters. A filter that said "includes an HTML command?" or "GIF?" would be useful.
The problem is that the cost/benefit ratio for spammers is almost nil. You can send thousands of e-mails for almost nothing, and certainly for little or nothing more than sending ten. How many people have to bite for him to make money? Ten? One? If the spammer had to pay postage, he'd be sitting down and thinking about it a bit more.

I plow through piles of this every day.
