"Idiots out there who claim that Democrats could somehow "fix" all this are welcome to chime in with their solutions. Surely, if Kerry were president, China would agree to cut off their own oil supplies, right?"

There should be a way to sue war criminals for monetary damages.
Btw, I think Tom you wrong about UN weak action in regards to Iran violation of NPT. In a month's time, and with Iran's continued stupidity in regard to this issue, the international community will be more likely to do something about Iran. Iran is opening a can whoop ass, and I think it's more like the international community will over react rather than do nothing.
So, I think the Democrat type of fix, of suing the bastard, will be quite "weapon of terror" to used against the Mullahs.
You could get WTO type rules to impose on China or other countries importing Iran oil- as I said the problem could really be an over reaction. Any over reaction will of course end up costing the US consumer and be bad for free trade in general- so favor more water torture than dramatic and excessive actions which could spook the world's economy.
[And kill any chance of my guess of US bull market starting at end of the summer- and since we predictable over react in these kind of things, it could instead be start of long global recession {which is more of a threat than any thing the terrorists have done to date}.]
