re: All in the family

"There's nothing particularly sinister about this phenomenon, I'm just surprised there hasn't been more public comment and concern about these potential successions. Internationally, there has been no criticism concerning an alleged Bush
dynasty, but if Hillary wins in '08, someone's bound to bring it up. I find it all very disturbing, not necessarily because of any problems with Bush or Clinton, but simply because it establishes a precedent I would rather not see. I've always suspected that feudalism has a deep subconscious appeal in times of stress, and the idea of a strong, p(m)aternalistic family firmly in charge and bringing back the good old days can be very seductive."

It's going to be fairly weird of Hillary is elected President, if nothing else the press [being generally the unimaginable lot it is] will for long period of time, be asking whether first Lady or Gentleman will run after spouse's 2 terms are up- and thereby *effectively* change the constituation amendent to 4 term limit. And in future this could warp into two people who want to be President [or pretended gay couple] being jointed at the hip so to speak politically.

The Hillary president also will also have potential political problems- Bill Clinton *could* radically change the traditional role of "First Lady". A woman President would have *some* problem, just being woman, but with Clintons Bill has that job experience and the connections- it's quite possible that Bill would or could overshadow Hillary's role as President. We had some "aggressive" First Ladys before, but Bill could completely run the show, unless he is consigned to dog house. And from dog house Bill wouldn't be this potential problem, but other types problems could ensue. And fundementally if Bill the husband isn't helping [but is hindrance to very tough job of being the President] doesn't that lead obvious point that Hillary might divorce Bill?
What happens if Hillary divorces Bill and then it is a possiblity that she could marry the next potiential President elect.
If you desire an interesting presidency, Hillary seems to have the most potential- assuming you want to live in interesting times:}

A McCain would be an option as Republican President, but I think McCain would lose to Hillary. I think McCain should switch to Democrat ticket, he could then have chance of winning [due to the strange dynamics that will probably be in Dem party]. I think Republican and independent voters would vote for McCain the Dem more than the would vote for McCain the Republican. Now if you want a lot fun, McCain President and Hillary VP- then what happens if McCain dies in Office? Fun, loads of it!!
