.NET is your friend

I didn't notice that installing the framework (either the runtime or the sdk) was an especially time-consuming operation. Try installing the MS development tools...that takes commitment! The Express versions of Visual Studio aren't too bad, but installing the Standard - Enterprise versions can be a job unto itself. I'm including SQL Server as part of the install because VS isn't really complete without it, imho (flame on, you MySQL users :-).

I develop with .NET 2.0 almost everyday, and thus far I couldn't be happier about it. IMHO the framework is stable, well-organized and an excellent expression of modern programming.
