Work ethic?
I am really tired of hearing about this "strong American work ethic", as if we were the only people on the planet who were willing to work hard.
If our work ethic is so hot, why did we have to bring in Africans to pick our cotton, Chinese to build our railroads, Mexicans to harvest our crops, and Asians to do our math and engineering. And today, we're even finding it more cost-effective to ship out the jobs than bring in foreigners to do the work.
Any work ethic Americans have is the one they brought with them when they arrived from the Old Country.
