"Actually it's hard to believe anyone casted a vote for this man."
Well, in choice between Al Gore and John Kerry, George Bush is relative genius. And I see nothing smart about getting a blow job from an intern- though not doubt some would think it shows great wisdom.
And in comparison to the talking heads, Bush is smarter and wiser than most of them.
As far as giving public speeches, there is no doubt that President Bush is inconsistent- though he has done a couple speeches which are about as good as anyone has given.
As far as leadership in general, some somewhat serious critics are concerned that he is going soft. I think he just being a politican- allowing himself to be seen as bending to public opinion. The people most worried about him going soft, are concerned mainly about Iran.
Iran as already got a nuke or is going to get a nuke soon, the 5-10 year in the future thing is nonsense. Everyone who isn't an idiot knows this, Bush knows this, congress knows this, etc. If Iran uses a nuke, they will lose. They know that, everyone knows that. Iranian leadership could allow themselves to be deluded into thinking they could in some way convertly use a nuke- but they probably aren't that stupid. Will they test fire a nuke and thereby announce they are no longer part of NPT- this is largely a political question. They are aware that if they test a nuke, then they will be economically ruined.
If we bombed Iran, this would give them a political opening to test fire a nuke or even use one against a target.
Bombing Iran is not a good political option, at least not until Iran leaves the NPT by using a nuke- thereby removing all doubt or political excuse on denying Iran's nuclear intention.
It seems to me that Iran has already lost- just like Hizbollah recently lost. Sure they are and can spend much effort declaring victory- and doesn't bother me much that MSM is helping Hizbollah in this act of self delusion [actually I think it's generally helpful in this particular case: You won? So this is what you think as victory? Spare us of any more of these types of victories].
Iran canstill burn down their house, Iran can and is still causing much pain and misery in the world, but the war they have been waging for last couple decades is lost. The tide has changed [and as someone who lived a large chunk of his life near the beach- no, you can't see the moment the tide changes.]
Now, we could still lose, but i think even John Kerry or Gore at this point could manage to win this war from here on out.
