Bush to send Hezbollah to New Orleans?

The Hezbollah is expanding its support base in Lebanon by the simple expedient of handing out $ 12,000. to each person who had their house destroyed or damaged. And they are handing it out in US $ 50. bills. The dust from the bombings hasn't settled yet, the bombings haven't quite ended and Hezbollah is already getting dollar aid distributed.

Think for a moment, if you had your house and furniture destroyed, and the next day a group handed you $ 12,000. in American $ 50's could you hate them for being part of the conflict that brought you to ruin? At least they are actively doing something to make it better for you. Are their motives pure? Of course not. Hezbollah would like to go from a minority position to control of the Lebanese government, they would like to convert this secular state into a Theocratic one. So what, Hezbollah is taking care of the people by dropping dollars on them instead of bombs.

I would suggest if Hezbollah had showed up in New Orleans right after Katrina and handed out 240 Benjamin Franklins to each displaced homeowner there would be a Hezbollah fan club in Louisiana today.

Oh, and keep in mind Bush did declare Hezbollah defeated, right?
