Was tailing someone one Sunday AM in one of those Firebirds, the Pontiac Camaro, with a 440 engine in it. Very light, small, lotsa torque. As I recall it came with a 400 or 440. Plain car, dark green. Light traffic, we're way back. Large 5 way intersection ahead. The other guy was driving.

The fellow made it late through green turning yellow light. "Oh, no! I've lost him!!", the driver said.

Now knowing exactly what I was thinking, I responded, "No you haven't".

The guy stabbed the gas pedal. That car leaped up, rubber was burning, and we rocketed forward. That car could move.

One car coming through the intersection hit on my side of the Firebird, pushed us sideways into two cars on the driver's side. By the time we got through that intersection we'd bounced off 5 cars, a small truck and a bus. No one, including us, was hurt, but it took absolutely forever to exchange information. And the guy did get away. Ironically, we found him later in the day in my car, exactly where we thought he was going.

If that car weren't so hot we wouldn't have tried. And if it weren't so hot, we could've stopped if we had tried. Way too much of it.
