re: Not so bad
Part of why I thought the one post was bad is that it might give the impression that I don't consider computer jocks real scientists and engineers. I think they are, just not for the real world. I think the profession is just as challenging and demanding as most science and engineering fields, but it doesn't require an identical mind set. Programming probably requires more patience because little mistakes often don't matter much in the real world, but everything matters in code. There's a stereotypical engineer mind set that I don't think applies as commonly to computer programmers.
