Current Events » in reply to New oil discoveries in the Gulf?

And there's a LOT more where that came from...

...but since we were scheduled to COMPLETELY run out of oil about 15 years ago according to my old school texts, I better not spoil THAT surprise when current projections are shown to be as off the mark as a blind drunk throwing darts at a board twenty feet distant.

Dinosaur graveyards do not equal oil.

Oil will someday be almost as common as water.

It will simply take another twenty years, 3 months and 7 days or thereabouts of technological development to realize this. By this time however there will be several major automotive alternatives to petroleum burning vehicles and 20 or more states will have already have either banned petrol vehicles or implemented PAY-PER-MILE programs which first will appear in CA within 10 years.

Yes, the old GAS tax will seem like nothing to the new computer monitored mileage monitors and monthly bill that the DMV will send you by 2016. Unfortunately CA will not have much of an intelligent citizenry left not to rubber stamp every hard left proposal that will emerge from the state assembly and the most lucrative agenda-driven lobbyist market outside of DC itself.
