The Moonie. That's sweet! Never heard that one, or if I had it leaked out of my ears ages ago. I've been away too long. Thanks Laurie.

As to the rise in the Canadian dollar, I have strongly mixed feelings. I have friends in the film industry north of the border who are undoubtedly suffering because of it. As the currencies level, economic reasons for US productions shooting in Canada (and hiring Canadian crews and actors) become less compelling.

But I also well recall the pride Canadians take at seeing their dollar do well against the greenback. The last time I remember the Cdn dollar being worth more than its US counterpart--think I was in my twenties at the time, a student in Calgary--it was a real point of pride, to heck with any impact on the trade balance :-)
