For whatever reasons those glaciers are going, and going fast. When they are gone, it will change the entire region.
All the villages, towns and cities nearby depend upon Kili for water. And a good part of that is from those once enormous glaciers. One doesn't get near the edge of the ice fields on top, as they were vertical and about 40 feet high.
The view from the top of Kili isn't much. There is so much smoke from heating and cooking with wood that its about loke looking down LA on a bad day.
The rain forest, from about 6,000 feet to 9,000 feet, is incredible. Take all your furniture, stack it in a hall at home. Fill the holes with the little stuff, be efficient. And then try to get through it.
That's like that jungle. I can and have seen how birds, snakes and elephants can make it. I don't know about the rest, except maybe jumping around the canopy.
But, it will be tragic when those ice fields are gone.
