re: The Intelligent Universe

Another not-too-bad hypothesis is that since electricity and magnetism along with plasma phenomena are scaleable over many if not all orders of magnitude, and we see the same structures on the subatomic scale as on the cosmic scale, perhaps all of the stars and galaxies are akin to the atoms and molecules of a some "super-being" on a cosmic scale. I mean, what if our cosm is a microcosm of some larger structure in reality? And what if (beyond the ability of our most sensitive sensors to detect), the microcosm of the subatomic world is not so dissimilar to our cosmos, if you tunnel down far enough? I mean, what if the universe, and life itself is one big fractal with the smallest parts and the largest parts (including life) being self-similar across ALL scales?

Wouldn't it be weird to find a civilization in a drop of water, as I think either Ray Bradbury or Isaac Asimov wrote in a short story? But sadly the glass of water dried up before the scientist who discovered it could bring friends back to show them... ;o]
