re: "Lightning" on Mars
Though in their discussion of lightning, I notice right off the bat they seem to leave out charging of the uppper atmosphere via charged particles emitted from the sun via Birkeland currents, CME's solar flares, geomagnetic storms, etc. Those definitely transfer some charge to the earth and affect weather patterns... I can almost guarantee it. ;o]
