Furthermore, assuming I can read English (I can!) the main page of the board has the following to say about content:

"This board will include, with loose interpretation: Space Science & Technology, past, present and future; Fiction, History and Politics with regard to space as well as general aviation"

I think this thread fits the "future of space science" criterion in a speculative way (the future can really ONLY BE speculated about since nobody KNOWS the future), and if nothing else, the "fiction" bit, which I already noted in the initial post. So, it's not entirely off topic, and I think it's an interesting thought experiment.
