In response to the prior post: "Interesting thought experiment? Well then, carry it out, and never expect others to do it for you. Of course, it never hurts to check if others have already done it earlier... If they get angry, maybe it's because it took them a really long time to figure it out..."
So, was that some bizarre twist on the "you should be seen but not heard" argument? I was specifically asking for feedback and others' input, with a bit of my own thrown in for good measure. I'm not asking for others to "do it for me." Last I HEARD from the moderators this was supposed to be an open and collaborative forum. So, please don't imply that I should "keep my ideas to myself" or "not bother anyone else with 'em." Granted those weren't your words, but the message was loudand clear, and a bit rude.
And do you happen to know if someone else has already done this thought experiment? If not, what was the point of that statement? Are you implying that I haven't checked whether or not others have asked the question before? As far as I know, nobody has. So, ules you have information to the contrary, that just seems like non-entirely effective or informative "cheap jab" that was unnecessary.
Also not entirely sure what you mean about people getting angry about somethign it took them a long time to figure out. Are you talking about the thought experiment, or something else entirely? I don't think anyone has gotten especially angry about the thought experiment, aside from maybe y'all trying to poke cheap shots at me. Or did I completely misread the post here?

Perhaps you meant for some reason that the thought experiment wasn't interesting and so I should keep my mouth shut and then quietly transitioned to another topic, perhaps why folks reacted a bit harshly on other threads (just guessing with no context in your very brief post)? I guess that interpretation of the vague text makes more sense in a less attack-y way. Sorry if I read the comment the wrong way the first time... It was just a bit non-specific, and I thought the two line of thought were just one line of thought, and interpreted through that lens, a bit negative/pessimistic. Heh.
I guess this highlights the need for more informative and concise communication in the forum. If ya' can't say whatyou mean, you can never mean what you say (my excuse for rambling).
End.
