1) They just don't like calling Pluto a Planet

2) It's just not PC for 1 American to potentially be given credit for discovering over 10 planets.

3) They were worried there might be more planets than they can count on their fingers and toes.

4) They weren't Sure how to pronounce Charon when discussing planets.

5) They were afraid Barycenter had something to do with ICAMSR.

6) They wanted a complicated definition that sounded like they put a lot of thought into it (the old baffle em with bullshit option).

7) They were afraid some nut with a long knife would want to promote other moons to planet status.

8) Neil Tyson can stomp the shit out of most of them and most of them think he used to be heavy weight champ.

9) All the sober Astronomers (95%+) had already left.

10) They just didn't want to admit there are any planets outside the solar system.
