Latest column comments on a number of things, but brings out a point about pessimism and self-hating culture that seems to be a prime characteristic in some circles in America and the West. My own theory is that we've taken two generations of our children and put them in universities where they're taught that the height of intellectual sophistication is to crap where you eat, and of course this also applies to journalism schools, but that's just my opinion, I suppose.
Now, did that enhance the experience of reading the article yourself? I hope so.
