I'm open for alternative explanations
Maybe he's had this horrible zit on his nose for the past two years, or his beard is falling out, and he refuses to be photographed. Maybe he can't afford a video camera, or maybe the chargers for the camera batteries don't work in the plugs in Pakistan. Maybe he's gotten the notion that a camera will steal a part of his soul.
There's all kinds of reasons for why someone as eager to shove his existence into our face won't show his own face. Just not very good ones.
