re: And now that I think about it...

Whether you like it or not Tom, any of those countries has just as much right to lecture us as we have to lecture them. You can't embrace the concept of free speech and then redefine the rules because something someone says makes you uncomfortable or angry.

You truly expose your true agenda with your statements like that. I think it's plainly obvious that you have such a weak devotion to your political positions that you believe the only way for them to retain any credibility is to constantly slam and silence the critics. It's almost as if you're the kid on the playground that, when criticized, covers his ears and starts yelling loudly so he won't have to hear anything.

When a post is made of something someone elsewhere in the world is loudly proclaiming, it is incumbent on us to pay attention to them, merely for the fact that others are. It doesn't matter what the message is or if we agree with it or not or what we feel about the source. We have to listen and understand deeply the implications of the negative things others say about our country and not merely dismiss them because we believe them to be the bad guy.

Within every "evil" regime, there's good people that are victims to the thugs running the country and, in between the vitriolic rhetoric from their leaders calling for our downfall, there's also truth from time to time that resonates with the common man. If you dismiss the entire message, you lose credibility with all the citizens of that area, including the people you need most on your side.

There is always a component of terror in any warfare done by a country and pretending it doesn't exist just because "God is on our side" and "our bombs are smarter than yours" doesn't make it go away.
