"This world is a battle ground for your mind."

This may come as a shock to you, SDAI-Tech1, but I agree with the core of your argument: "This world is a battle ground for your mind". Yes indeed. And you reinforce the point that this is a psychological war by describing one type of psychological weapon: "Most folks feel they have the ability to resist post-hypnotic suggestion, but they do not". Yes indeed again, there are more levers on the human psyche than we'd like to admit, and you went on at endless length on that subject.

I trust that you can see it coming: Why in the hell have you unleashed a torrent of turgid prose trying to deny the existence of that facet of the dark side of human nature called authoritarian conservatism? How can you possibly deny that the generals in the conflict you describe have picked up that obvious and powerful psychological weapon when you yourself portray the struggle as psychological warfare?

Now, if you deny the existence of the vulnerability of authoritarian conservatism and thus weapons that attack it, how about describing the other weapons being used in this conflict? It's not a conflict if nobody's fighting, and we know the fight's happening, so what weapons are being used if not authoritarian conservatism?

To focus on the essential core of our discussion, what technique are RightWing demagogues using to produce the reliable, if slim, electoral margins that have kept them in power for years, since--and you're trying to tell me this is a coincidence?--9/11? What alternative theory matches the rhetoric of fear and encouragment of dependency to a nobler Republican strategy..."you're all gonna die unless you vote Republican!"...? Is that something other than an appeal to authoritarian conservatism? What?
