Who Techie, you need to get out more. The only part of the left that appeals to me is the fact that ethically we owe a certain payback to the society for the benefits and opportunities it brings us. I'm not into handouts to lazy idiots or believing everything some environmental wacko tries to tout. I hate unions for the most part unless we truly fall into the depths of fascism. My stance about the good of war has nothing to do with liberalism but instead with basic common sense and my observance of human nature throughout my life.

Lindy does get out there a bit but it doesn't disturb the rest of us nearly as much as it does you. As much as she sees some pretty bizarre conspiracies, you're equally as guilty as finding way too much influence in the fringe liberal elements. Many on the left find them laughable as well but the problem is the other side is so lethal in their opportunism that if you don't throw some support to them, the fundamentalist right will find a way to feed them to the lions.

We've stated many times that with the extremes of both sides of thought, the left is the most harmless. They at least are analytical in their approach instead of relying on pronouncements from God, end of discussion. Even if the far left won't waver in their convictions, if they get too goofy you can just keep them so involved in the details they'll never get anything done. The right shoots first and analyzes afterwards.

I'm really surprised your analytical skills (and you clearly have them) haven't sorted out this major difference in threat level. It makes me wonder at times if you're not a wolf in sheep's clothing, only pretending to have atheistic and liberal leanings. The sides you take rarely make any sense and don't match any other person I've met that claims the ideals you do.
