It was done at the same studio where that flag fluttered on the "moon". If they had lifted the camera up the stars wouldn't have shown in the black sky.

Some JPL engineer built the set in his backyard out of paper mache and his kids painted it with spray cans.

Let's see now, what else are the conspiracy theorists going to come up with....?
