It's believed by those who have seen them all that the gentleman in question left Mars when it became uninhabitable, leaving behind this monument so that future civilizations would become aware of their origin. Obviously they couldn't bring ALL they're technology with 'em, for the same reason we couldn't take it to Mars.
On Mars, where life developed through Panspermia, evolution was rapid due to the light atmosphere and technology developed almost immediately due to the low gravity. As the water supply became scarce, they "Mars-formed" Earth and colonized. (If you'll notice, it would take the same amount of energy to create the Great Pyramids on Earth as the face on Cydona, factoring in the denser atmosphere, higher gravity, and distance from the Sun. And Moon. And stars.)
What's faked are the slight distortions introduced into the pictures. The distortions of the real figure on Cydona, which HAS weathered a bit as time has gone on. It's not as perfect as He left it, though undeniably Him. That can't be denied. At all. 'Cause it's Him.
Settling on Atlantis, their major works are underwater, and deteriorating. A tsunami got 'em as well as a catastrophic earthquake which dropped the land several hundred feet, causing the Flood of legend.
It can't be denied that Cydona is an EXACT replica of a stone carving on a Peruvian plain. If they would release the real image on Cydona. An earlier version shows up in Mexico. And more pyramids. Too much for coincidence.
That in turn is clearly the same image as found on a remote temple in Chile, and is remarkably similar to some of the Aboriginal rock paintings.
It's believed to have first been recorded on Earth in Iran, a stone carving on a 4000 year/old public building in Iran, which has been covered with sand so as to protect it.
Clearly it's the image of a great leader who had the power of pyramids at his behest, and was able to mold and sculpt vast amounts of material.
Too much for coincidence, but the socio/political/economic/military/industrial/religious/scientific complex isn't able to absorb it. No money in it.
However, Mattel is prepared with a Cydona Action Figure. Now, would THEY waste money on THAT if they weren't sure?
