I thought you meant "Au" !

No, not going, but it sounds interesting. I was very close to buying 2007, I might still, but what I needed to do was done very well by SketchUp. I finally did the Demo out of need for good, quick, graphic output and was so impressed I bought a license before I even finished the demo time.

All my drafting now is in 3D. My problem was I trying to communicate 3D information to people who didn't have AutoCad. Sure, there is a free dwg reader, but for SketchUp is so easy to use! I have been on the fast track learning curve for the program and in less than 24 hours I had draped roads and other features onto a semi-transparent ground surface, was making really cool fly-through .avi files, and was (virtually) strolling down mine tunnels.

I'll still do the real work in AutoCad, but for presentations, it's SketchUp from now on.

So much fun it is hard to turn off the computer.
