I don't like using the DJIA

The Dow is comprised of only a small number (30) of very large stocks and does not well represent the overall market. The S&P500 is a much better large/mid cap benchmark, and the Russell 2000 is the best index for small publicly traded companies.

These market indices are still slightly below their January 2000 levels...
