I think maybe another pot of coffee might help, too, if your best shot is to insist that I should advise Bush on how to get out of the political mess he's created for himself. Don't be silly, Tom, anything that puts in place constraints on Bush's ability to cause further harm to America is a good thing, and if he can't be removed from office before 2008, next best thing is a hostile Congress.

The GOP wouldn't be facing such a humiliating defeat if I was the only one who looked at it that way. So what you call "going nuts" is, to the majority of us, really "undoing the damage" caused by six years of Republican incompetency, corruption, and generally malicious governance.
