Kid-hosted programs exist - for a 'kid demographic'. That's why they're on Nickolodeon or Disney. Show me an eight year old child hosting a program for an *adult* demographic - or even a teenage demographic - like a wildlife program. Show me the kid doing it as good as an adult. Show me the kid doing it for reasons *other* than being the child of a famous TV star.

The only true honest reason remaining after all those caveats, could only be the child is some sort of prodigal genius, who has more knowledge and experience than an adult counterpart. And at least as much maturity, too.
