Have you lived in France?

Just wondering, since your statements make you seem like an ignorant loser trying to demean others that you know nothing about-

I lived there a couple of months- I barely spoke the language, but I was treated not just well, but as special- strangers LOVED to talk to me and help me once they knew I was American- you - with your flawed "photographic memory" should remember me telling about having a french citizen break me into a french bank in Paris so I could make a phone call...

There were 2, well maybe 3, incidents where French citizens were rude to me- I lost count of the rude incidents I had when visiting New York City- And I only visited a few days.

France, like all countries, has positives and negatives- but to slander the population is disgusting, and arrogant.

What 'depravity' are you talking about? I saw less 'dirty' porn in paris than I saw in texas- sure maybe their tv shows more nudity on commercials, but why blame them for your sexual insecurities and hang-ups?

I think that the whole silly concept of the french as 'rude' is based on one small cultural thing- the French have a different idea of personal space- when you talk to them they tend to 'get too close' and while that bothered me, I was intelligent enough to understand that different cultures have different ideas of 'personal space'- it disturbed me, but I realized it was MY problem, not theirs. When you are in another culture you SHOULD behave as a guest- people like you are why we have a negative image in other countries...

I got lost in Paris- people were fighting over who got to help the poor american- they were friendly and Eager to help- (and shouted curses at a bank guard at a bank that was closed until he let us in so we could use the phone so I could contact the person I was supposed to meet for directions)

In short, SDAI, you are - as usual- speaking of things you have no experience with... The French Are just people- a few are assholes but most of them are human beings trying to be good- in my experience they were much better on average than new yorkers...

If you had a bad experience in France, well, its most likely because you were an arrogant ass
