I'm sure it was aimed at Bush and a failed attempt at humor. However in typical Kerry fashion it was a very stupid comment obviously open to interpretation either way. A fine example of an liberal idiot who thinks he's smart. In trying to lampoon someone else he inserts foot firmly in his own mouth. While aimed at Bush, the failure to see the possible misinterpretation does indicate a certain lack of sense or sensibility in that regard.
While I share a taste for "subtle" humor it's not really a good idea for a politician to attempt in front of a wide audience unless it can be interpreted only in the way intended or at worst some neutral alternative.
