American became a "bad word" when arrogant Americans had the termerity to
accuse other Americans of being anti-American. When you attempt to co-opt a word to suit your own narrow purposes you trivialize that word. That is precisely what you Gops have done to "America."
Perhaps now it is time to rebuild respect for that term and the people to which it applies?
