From memory, this is a genuine ER message, but posted here - presumably as a quote so that EP could indulge in some name-calling free of sanction.

My interpretation is that EP was not trying to put words into ER's mouth. He was merely repeating words already written. Unfortunately he forgot to say "ER said...", and I am disurbed at him using ER's name in a post.

Whilst I can understand EP's actions (and am glad that this is NOT on the space board), the quotation should have been attributed more accurately -either by using the [blockquotes] html tag, or by including a link to the original message URL

(personally, I would prefer that we had logins, secure ID's, and static handles. This business of having to check IP addresses is a clumsy way of checking bona fides.)

EP will not be banned from Space for this (retroactive legislation, and all that), but for those that like rules, and limits, here is a RULE.

Insofar as my authority stretches as a Moderator of the Space Board, let it be known henceforth that NOBODY who EVER forges someone else's handle on ANY board will NEVER be allowed to post on Space again.
