From changing whatever traditions suited them to rig votes and elections to go their way, pay for play, business shakedowns for donations, and runaway deficits on the watch do to unrestrained pork and tax cuts primarily benefitting their primary contributors. Pork is an old problem even older tha Byrd. The Republicans kicked corruption up a level in terms of a party piller of power and squandering a surplus.
