Unlikely

There have been several searches for Brown dwarfs in the close solar neighborhood with good IR scopes. None found. Extremely unlikely. We can now detect L type stars at many 10s of LY, not that we've found most of them.

Most of the new RECONS stars were already known. The news is their paralax measurements resulting in their <30pc distances.
