re: Hersh? Still makes things up.

Interesting how you use the term "We've been over this before" when what we all know is that "You've been over this before". Just saying things are so over and over scarcely makes them so Tom even though Karl Rove seems to base his life on it.

Let's just look at the three posts in this thread from you and their titles. You basically said the same thing over each time which is that Hersch lies implying that nothing the man can ever say again will ever be the truth. If we carry out that logic after catching the administration in numerous examples of distortions or out and out lies, then we can never again trust a word they say. Tom, I'd say from what I know about human behavior, that there's overwhelming evidence that you've lied sometime in your past. Therefore, nothing you ever say again can have any credibility.

What Bowser's pointing out and it seems to be going completely over your head is that, even if Hersh misrepresented something in the past, he did it in a journalistic setting. If he intentionally lied, the net effect didn't directly cause people to die or bombs to fall. Somehow I doubt the man intentionally lied about anything though. Outside of your world, the man is a respected journalist and his life is all about credibility. My guess is instead that, if he did misrepresent something, it fell more into the category of Dan Rather's faux pax of simply not checking sources close enough. I cared less about Dan's error and feel the same about Hersch.

However, lies by national leaders are in another dimension Tom especially when they're used to wage war and Bowser has every right to contrast the scope. Compared to Bush and Cheney, Hersch looks like a Boy Scout.
