"Good Eats"

Just caught an episode of "Good Eats" on the Food Network last night, all about cheese. Alton Brown, our host, pointed out that older, aged cheeses -- meaning not cream cheese, feta cheese, and other cheeses aged for less than 6 months -- lose their lactose, and so people with lactose intolerance can eat them. So you stilton eat cheese, but cheddar be careful how old it is, or you'll be bleu. Let the buyer guyere!

In case you have never seen this show, it's terrific. He does a theme on a particular food, gets into gadgets, the science of preparing foods, culinary anthropology, and sketch comedy. (The show on garlic featured a vampire trying to get over his fear of garlic.) And, oh yeah, a recipe or two. All in half an hour!
