So said the new SecDef Gates this morning, the one vote belonging to the Preznit. Gates seems to know his place, and characterized his role as simply providing advice to The Decider. "I live to kiss thy backside, my liege!" is more like it. I'm not feeling too optimistic this morning, knowing that Bush has found himself another devoted yes-man to feed his delusions.

And in other news, I hear Cheney has described Rummy as the best Secretary of Defense this nation has ever had.

I wonder why he was fired?

Lovely logical corner Cheney's backed himself into. If Rummy was that good, then firing him would be one more stupid decision in a long line of stupid decisions by the Bush Regime. Or he wasn't that good (duh) and needed to be fired, making Cheney simply a liar.

The fun never ends.
